Using dedicated Project teams & the principles of BIM allows Underhill Fabrication Services to create value from the combined efforts of people, process and technology. Using 3D Models on all Fabrication Projects, UFS ensures efficient management of all relevant information throughout a package’s lifecycle.

With more Principle Contractors using BIM, including all centrally-procured government projects, The Underhill Group is currently guaranteeing its future by pursuing compliance with PAS 1192-2.    



The Underhill Group is BS EN ISO 9001:2008 accredited in-house design team comprises of structural engineers and design technicians who specialise in a number of areas. Part of our company for over 15 years, this department allows us to undertake and control design scopes ranging from full concept development, design and build, through to specialist frame and connection design. It is yet another area of our business that sets us apart in the industry. Our design team are involved with all projects from concept through to delivery and play a vital role in maintaining our traceability of our materials to ensure QA compliance with CE marking legislation.

Our strict approach to HSEQ is governed by our adherence to HSE legislation, BSI Standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OHAS 18001, as well CHAS and CE Marking regulations.

This includes a proactive approach to managing COSHH and risk. As a standard, SMSTS qualified Project Managers will produce a RAMS document prior to work and regularly conduct toolbox talks & site meetings.

HSE management is the responsibility of all personnel of the Underhill Group and is a joint responsibility with our contractors.


We operate all processes in accordance with HSE legislation, our own HSE policy and in-line with COSHH procedures. Our approach to managing COSHH does not stop with data sheets and assessments; it includes the provision of PPE and regular, thorough training sessions about the control of hazardous substances. Our COSHH management is overseen by the Stores department and this includes access and monitoring of our secure COSHH facility.
